Since we first started baking biscuits in Drogheda in 2017 we’ve been warmly welcomed by Irish biscuit lovers. But we’re thrilled that biscuit lovers around the globe are now discovering our “better baked biscuits” for themselves.

We’re now available in 22 countries including UK, Kenya, Portugal, Cyprus, Australia and even the Faroe Islands!

Half price promotion nationwide

At East Coast Bakehouse our Biscuits are “Better Baked with real Irish butter” at our Bakehouse in Drogheda, County Louth.

This month we’re celebrating St Patrick’s Day and our membership of “LOVE IRISH FOOD”, with a half price promotion in retailers across the country. One bite and you’ll taste the rich buttery flavour and choc chunks, that make our biscuits a firm favourite for all the family. Perfect for dunking in tea or even with a cool glass of milk.

And for all the Granola enthusiasts out there, the East Coast Bakehouse biscuit range will see two new exciting additions. Our Granola Crunchy with Choc Chips and Granola Cookies with Nuts and Seeds will be appearing on shelf later this spring. East Coast Bakehouse so keep an eye on this range as we promise to have more exciting news on the way!

East Coast Bakehouse are proud to announce that we have achieved Origin Green membership. Alison Cowzer – co-founder of East Coast Bakehouse said “ as a new biscuit manufacturing business we are committed to embedding sustainability in everything we do. We look forward to collaborating with others in the food industry to achieve better outcomes for our customers, our local communities and for the environment”

To achieve Origin Green accreditation, East Coast Bakehouse had to show sustainability timelines and targets, which were then verified to an independent standard. Included in the plan were commitments to sustainable sourcing, environmentally friendly operations, and a range of community initiatives

Bord Bia CEO Tara Mc Carthy said, “I am delighted to welcome East Coast Bakehouse as a verified member of the Origin Green programme. The company now joins nearly 280 other Irish food and drink producers committed to environmental, social and economic sustainability targets. Origin Green provides Irish companies with an infrastructure with which to measure and improve their sustainability performance, at a time when the world needs to produce more food with less resources.”

Employing a team of 45 at our Bakehouse in Drogheda, East Coast Bakehouse bake a range of biscuits using Irish butter and Irish Oats and now stocked in all major retailers nationwide.

We are thrilled to have swept the boards at the prestigious Blas na hEireann / Irish Food Awards 2017.

We are delighted to be going to the National Ploughing Championships at Screggan for the first time. We are located at Block 3 / Row 32 / Stand 665 where you can sample our biccies, meet the team and tell us what you think of our biscuits and cookies.

East Coast Bakehouse a Blas na hEireann Favourite

We are thrilled to be have four of our tasty biscuits shortlisted for the Blas na hEireann Irish Foods Awards. Baked using pure Irish butter and Irish oats our biscuits are going down a treat with consumers and now they are a firm favourite of the expert taste panels of Blas na hEireann.

Four of our tasty biscuits have been shortlisted and if you haven’t tried them yet just drop into your local shop and you can have your own taste panel!

Our Milk Choc Chunk cookie as well as its Milk Chocolate enrobed twin are both shortlisted as well as our Oat’em Milk Chocolate Enrobed Oat Biscuit and our delightful Crunch’em Milk Chocolate Enrobed Butter Crunch.

Blas na hEireann, The Irish Food Awards is the biggest competition for quality Irish produce on the island of Ireland. Over 2,500 products were entered into the 2016 competition in over 100 food and drink categories.

East Coast Bakehouse secures RSPO Certification

East Coast Bakehouse has been awarded RSPO certification, this is part of our core commitment to sustainability and meeting retail partner requirements.

“Ensuring that we source the right ingredients for our customers is an important element in what we do”, commented Daragh Monahan, Commercial Director, “sustainable palm oil is not only demanded by our retail-partners, but it’s the right to do for a progressive and forward-looking company like East Coast Bakehouse”.

Director of Marketing & Innovation, Alison Cowzer, also commented: “Sustainability is at the heart of what we do and how we plan our business, having RSPO certification ensures that we are not only using quality ingredients but are building on our Origin Green commitments”.

The goal of RSPO (Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil) is a not-for-profit that unites stakeholders from the 7 sectors of the palm oil industry to develop and implement global standards for sustainable palm oil. The RSPO has more than 3,000 members worldwide who represent all links along the palm oil supply chain. They have committed to produce, source and/or use sustainable palm oil certified by the RSPO.

UTZ Certification for East Coast Bakehouse

As part of East Coast Bakehouse’s commitment to sustainability and meeting retail partner requirements, we are delighted to be UTZ certified for the sourcing of cocoa.

UTZ is committed to creating a better, more sustainable world. It is the largest program for coffee and cocoa and has certification schemes in other commodities including (herbal) tea, rooibos and hazelnuts. The UTZ certified label features on over 20,000 different products across 135 countries.

East Cost Bakehouse obtains BRC AA Rating

East Coast Bakehouse has obtained a BRC AA (British Retail Consortium) grade following a recent audit. The AA grade is the highest grade that can be issued and represents East Coast Bakehouses’ commitment to the implementation of best practices and process improvements relating to the production, storage and distribution of our products.
